Maintenance-free gel battery with a capacity of 55 Ah and a nominal voltage of 12 V, designed for cyclic operation as well as float charging.
The battery uses VRLA GEL technology, in which the electrolyte is immobilised in silica gel. This makes the battery completely maintenance-free throughout its entire service life, resistant to deep discharge, and capable of rapid recovery. The gel construction also reduces the effects of vibration, limits electrode corrosion, and eliminates electrolyte stratification. Special glass fibre (AGM) separators ensure mechanical stability of the plates.
The battery is suitable for cyclic operation (repeated discharge and recharge) as well as float charging with a low depth of discharge. When used in float operation at +20 °C, it achieves a service life of up to 12 years. Cycle life is up to 500 cycles at 80% depth of discharge, 800 cycles at 50% discharge, and 1,600 cycles at 30% discharge.
Charging and Discharging
The recommended charging current is 0.1C to 0.25C (where C corresponds to the nominal capacity in Ah). To maintain long service life, a maximum discharge current of 0.3C is recommended. The voltage for cyclic operation is 14.4–15.0 V (initial charging current max. 16.5 A), and for float charging 13.6–13.8 V.

The battery is intended for uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), solar and photovoltaic systems, electronic fire protection systems (EPS), electronic security systems (ESS), telecommunications equipment, emergency lighting, geophysical, meteorological and medical instruments, as well as backup for circulation pumps and boilers.
