Přenos HDMI po LAN, především KVM extender - přenos HDMI signálu současně s USB přenosem myši a klávesnice, pár zařízení (vysílač a přijímač), HDMI je přenášeno komprimovaně (do 100 Mbps), vysílání v IPv4 UDP, neomezený dosah ve smyslu spojení v LAN nebo internetu.
Pár jednotek vysílač a přijímač, které dovolují přenos HDMI videa a USB po IP sítích. Typicky je určen pro KVM aplikace, tj. vzdálené ovládání počítačů. Výhodou je, že má prakticky neomezený dosah, podmínkou je jen LAN síť. Doporučujeme jej tedy tam, kde již vzdálenost nedovoluje užití nekomprimovaných přenosů HDMI po Cat5 kabelážích. Přenos je prováděn pomocí IP protokolu, video v UDP multicastu, obousměrná USB komunikace v UDP unicastu.
Pro zprovoznění myši a klávesnice je třeba instalovat do ovládaného počítače USB ovladač, pro Windows platformy je přiložen. Pro Linux je v moderních kernelech již součástí, jde o ovladač pro CH341 USB/RS-232 (v kernelech od r. 2009).
Kapacita využitého přenosového pásma byla v našich testech cca 85 Mbps. Zařízení je z modelové řady EHDMIC11xx a je k ní tak např. kompatibilní zařízení EHDMIC11-R. Tj. můžete použít tuto sadu EHDMIC11U-TR jako zdrojový vysílač pro mnoho příjemců aniž by se jakkoliv změnila KVM funkčnost.
Poznámka: USB port nelze použít pro přenos dat z flash disků.
